When opened, this 357-g cake of pressed twisted leaves, has a brown colour, with thin cuttings and tips.
The fragrance is intensive, nutty, with a dried fruit accent.
The infusion is dark, reddish-brown.
Taste and aroma
The bouquet of the ready-made tea is mature, nutty-and-woody, with notes of dried fruits, rustic bread and spicy herbs.
The aroma is deep and warm, nutty-and-woody.
The taste is rich, mild, velvety, sweetish and with a slight woody tartness and fruity sourness.
General information
Shu Pu-erh «Lao Chahu» (which means «Old teapot») was made from Burmese raw materials and harvested in 2017.
Brewing method
Brew the tea with hot water (95°C) in a gaiwan or a teapot made of porous clay. The proportion is 6-8 g per 100 ml. The time of the first infusion is about 5-7 seconds. After that do short infusions (just for 1 second) increasing the infusion time for each subsequent step, if necessary. You can infuse the tea up to approximately 8-9 times.
