«Big Red Robe» is a good choice for everyday tea drinking if you don’t have that much time. The effect is warming and strengthening.
The 100 grams of brick is compressed conveniently tight, but easily breakable into segments (12 pieces).
The fragrance is deep, with smoked pastry notes.
The infusion is transparent, with a dark amber hue.
Taste and aroma
The bouquet of brewed tea is warm and vivid, with a bread crust tonality.
The aroma is deep, viscose and complex.
The taste is juicy, rich, and a bit tart, with light fiery bitterness (it is felt only in high concentration), fine fruit sourness and lingering finish.
«Da Hong Pao» or «Big Red Robe» is pressed from fragments of leaf (middle and small fraction) and sorted during production of the high-grade Dahongpao harvest 2017 (various batches). During the processing, the raw material was heated several times; both in the traditional way in baskets over the coals and in the electric oven-honggang (high fire).
Brew the tea with hot water (95-100°C) in a porcelain gaiwan or a teapot of porous clay. The proportion is 1 cube for 200-250 ml. The time of the first infusion is about 10 seconds. After that do short infusions (just for 2-3 seconds), increasing the infusion time for each subsequent step, if necessary. You can infuse the tea up to approximately 6-8 times. Also it is well revealed in cooking on fire.
