The image that tea is mostly calming is understandable, but wildly outdated. It entirely depends on the quality, sort and way you drink tea. Now, tea bags with bad tea powder from the supermarket indeed doesn’t really wake you up, as there is almost no caffeine (theine) left in there after the heavy processing. However, once you get into good quality tea, it’s a whole other world. You will be surprised at how well a good sheng pu-erh is able to wake you up, or how mate can make your day much more energetic.
